GREAT SERVICE
WE CAN DO
FOR MANKIND

It has always been the hope and aspirations of the club to create more opportunities for school students to be fully exposed to the culture, customs and ways of life from another country in line with the club principles and activities. In view of the limited seats allocated for our outbound students, MISEC has always explored new opportunities to link with other exchange clubs all over the world. The club members have had more than 10 years experience in Youth Exchange programme.

MISEC always believes that the inbound students should be given all opportunities to explore and experience the beauty of Malaysia and at the end of the programme, they carry along with them not only an experience of a lifetime but also building a bond with the hosting families. This in turn creates love and care. For us, this is the greatest service we can do for mankind.

Back to Back With Hosting Families

This programme involves students from both countries. It involveszero costing on arrival of the host country by both parties. The hosting parents of both countries will bear the cost upon arrival of the students in their countries. The students will bear the cost of air fare, uniforms ( if necessary), accessories like badges, friendship banners, name tags, name cards, etc. MISEC will play the role to coordinate for both sides and look for hosting families. A student who hosts a guest student will be hosted by the same person in reciprocation.

Currently, this programme is being conducted between Ave Maria Convent Girls’ School in Ipoh, Perak and Oami High School in Chiba Perfecture. There is a mutual understanding between both schools. MISEC is always exploring to new schools in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea so that more students participant in this programme.

Educational Outbound Trip

MISEC will spearhead this programme by visiting schools to follow up circulars being sent out by the Ministry of Education, normally at the beginning of the year. Such Educational Outbound Trip is normally custom-made to countries like Turkey, Japan, Korea or other popular countries as requested by schools. Educational Outbound Trip will include the compulsion to attend schools or universities as part of our pre-requisite in line with the demands of the Ministry of Education.

Educational Inbound Trip

MISEC also accepts request from other countries to organise inbound trip to Malaysia in general and Ipoh in particular. There are not only many places of interest in Ipoh but it is a food gourmet par excellence. Voted by the Lonely Planet as a place to visit, Ipoh has been receiving lots and lots of tourists over here. Besides these two, MISEC also collaborates very closely to government and private schools in particular established international schools like Tenby International School, Imperial International School and Fairview International School. Inbound students get the opportunity to experience hands on the atmosphere in the international and government schools.

MISEC also works closely with other NGOs like the Perak Art Society, American Field Services, Fatimah Hospital Nursing Home, Toastmasters, etc. Above all, MISEC connects well with the State Government too and in most functions, the Menteri Besar or Chief Minister of the State is invited.

In our Educational Inbound trip, a very fruitful and compact itinerary will be designed to the satisfaction of all. It covers accommodation, meals, visits to places of interest, community work and a Farewell Cultural dinner. A high ranking officer from the Education Department or an Assemblyman would normally be invited for the Closing Ceremony.

Perak International Folklore Festival

Perak International Folklore Festival is an annual event in collaboration with the State Government, Ministry of Education, organising Schools and Colleges. This event showcases classical and modern dances, cultural performances, singing, etc. It normally involves more than 4 countries and will be held in three venues. Judging of this event will be based on Gold, Silver or Bronze and Participation Level. The award classified according to PERFORMANCE, COSTUMES AND PRESENTATION.

As this is an international event, MISEC has to seek support from the State Government and Ministry of Education. The press, of course, will be involved too.

Educational Outbound Volunteer Programme

This programme involves college or university students who are 18 years and above and have their semester break and would like to experience volunteering themselves to teach in a primary school, community centre or orphanages overseas or in other states. MISEC will seek the assistance from its counterpart to arrange accommodation from host families and school or orphanage to attend. Expenses and other costs are borne by the applicants themselves. It can be done locally or foreign country.

Educational Inbound Volunteer Programme

This programme caters for overseas students who must be 18 years and above to do volunteer tasks in orphanages, old folks or schools. As the name implies, it is a voluntary job and no salary or allowance is given and the orphanages, old folks home or schools are not obligated to pay the volunteers.
